Desription of the flag

The flag is a white field with the city seal in the center. The flag was adopted in late 2019.

Vernon is one of only thirteen all-black towns in Oklahoma. Also despite being incorporated in 2005, it wasnt until 2023 that the U.S. Census Bureau listed the town as incorporated.

Seal

[Seal of Vernon, Oklahoma] image by David Sigley, 27 January 2026

The seal shows a blue ring with a bunch of stuff in the center. In the upper half are photos of an abandoned house, The former U.S.P.S Office located in Vernon. The Vernon community center, and a photo of a family. The lower half shows the "All-Black towns of Oklahoma" sign that talks about Vernon's history. The city's name arches over the photos. Under the main device of the seal is the town's establishment year.
