Coat of Arms

[Bordonhos commune CoA] image by António Martins-Tuválkin and Sérgio Horta, 6 Apr 2025

Shield Azure two gearwheels Or, in chief a Paschal Lamb Argent nimbused Or and holding a staff cruciger Or flagged with a cross Gules on Argent, in base three maize ears Or leafed Argent and tied Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "BORDONHOS".
Two images of this coat of arms which mismatch the official blazon These might be more than mere mistakes, and might have had flag usage:
Maize ears Gules (instead of Or), see municipal webpage,
Shield Argent (instead of Azure),see WIKIMEDIA commons, with the shield filled not in blue but in the white/grey gradient used for heraldic Argent. Which of course yields an unacceptable blazon with all charges coloured against the heraldic rules of tinctures.
Meaning:
The paschal lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.
